For sale, a new replacement ignition switch. This switch replaces the short ignition switch part # 386947 that uses a separate choke switch. A set of clear, simple wiring instructions included with every switch. This style ignition switch was in use for all Johnson/Evinrude motors from the early to mid 70's. In all the side by side pictures above the new switch is on the left and the original switch is on the right. You will see that the switch bodies are the same size so these will fit inside your control box just fine but the key will stick out about a quarter inch further. The terminals on the back are all code lettered the same with one exception- where the original switch had 2 screw/wire attachments for the "A" terminal. This replacement switch has one "A" terminal and one "I" terminal- they both serve the same function of providing battery + so you can use one, both or neither- they are to power up accessories or other gauges when the key is in the "on/run" position and are not needed for starting or running your engine.
